Interstate 90 West from Montana to Idaho
There is maybe no other day on our entire adventure so far that so completely captured the highs and lows of RV life better than this day. The video below was taken at noon as we drove west on I-90 into Idaho, marking our 48th state to visit this year!
And this photo was taken 45 minutes later…

And that, in a nutshell, is kinda what it’s like to be part of this mobile circus. Everyone was fine, including the cars driving near us when the entire outter tread of a trailer tire came off in one long sheet and went flapping and then flying out from under Stumbo’s port side. Luckily we had just passed an interstate on-ramp, so we were able to back down it to do the work off of the main interstate shoulder. And we were only about 4 miles away from a Les Schwab, so by 3:00pm we were leaving Kellogg, Idaho with two new tires.
Becky & I are very glad all was kept under control and everyone is OK! It looks like the trailer flare took the brunt of the damage. Isn’t having a smart phone great for finding a tire shop on the road! We blew a tire on our new to us, gently used motorhome with only 1400 miles on it. We were on I-95 in N.C. when we lost both driver side rear tires. We were able to limp off the freeway to stay for the night in a mini-mart parking lot. Then used our phone to locate a tire shop that came out and had us on the road by 9am. Continued safe travels! God bless you guys! We miss you!
so, i know i saw you after this occurred but i just bawled like a baby at my desk at work listening to you all sing that song. there arenβt words to express the emotions of being so happy youβre living youβre adventure, so sad because I miss you all so much and so grateful for the time spent together and friendship we have.
